Mistakes are a topic worth repeating.
I relish mistakes. When learning something new I make as many mistakes as possible, as fast as possible.
My goal is not to avoid mistakes, my goal is to avoid repeating them!
Perfectionism is the opposite of making mistakes. It is a deadly trap. It shoehorns me into a repetitive rigidity which is very limiting… and somehow mistakes still happen! I might make fewer of them but I’m less likely to admit/tolerate them. This taxes my immune system and my spirit. It also makes me less likely to benefit from my mistakes.
Perfectionism is unhealthy. It is the opposite of growth. If you are never making mistakes, you simply aren’t doing anything.
Show appreciation for your mistakes by fully realizing their value, especially when your mistake is perfectionism!
