Wisdom is a commodity, mined from the ore of our mistakes. We are each of us sitting on the mother lode.
Some say those who do not learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them. But those who do learn from mistakes are now in a position to go forward and make new ones… hopefully!
I used to fear making mistakes. Consequently I approached any new endeavor with great caution and reserve. Too much looking and not enough leaping. Now when I set out to learn something new I jump in. I try to make as many mistakes as I can as quickly as possible.
I stopped trying to avoid mistakes and simply focused on not repeating them. Ironically, the further I get from perfect the more my performance improves.
