The people we love do things that change us. Our vulnerability gives them this power.
When I open my feelings to you in a loving relationship, things you do effect me. When the effect is profound, I change. Similarly, some things I do change you. Throughout this process we are each becoming different people because of the closeness we share.
As long as we both grow and change, we are constantly creating a new relationship. If we stagnate then nothing changes… except time passing, which creates its own pressures.
Either way, it changes how our love is. What does loving each other mean now?
I believe when we first meet someone we don’t fall in love with them, we merely begin loving them. Then, if we choose to, we commit to keep re-finding a new love to share.
Cupid’s job is not an easy one. Love is a moving target.
